More compact way to view lists of notes

When viewing lists of notes in a pane in Amplenote, the lists show a lot of detail (title, first few sentences, modification time, tags). If you have a lot of notes this makes the list feel crowded and overwhelming, and also means you may have to do a lot of scrolling to see all the notes.

I have found that Amplenote has a "compact view" option, but this view isn't actually very compact, it still takes up multiple lines per note.

I want to suggest two ways to improve the compactness:

1. (Most important) A more compact version of "compact view" that shows note title only, so each note only takes up space equivalent to one line of text.
2. (Less important) The ability to drag the panes to change their widths, so they can be kept open for quick navigation between notes without taking up as much space.

One use case where this improved compactness would be helpful is if someone is doing work that requires regularly moving back and forth between different notes.

The attached image shows Amplenote with "compact view" on the top and Notesnook on the bottom. Each is showing the same number of notes (5) in their middle pane. As Notesnook demonstrates, it's possible to make this take a lot less screen space.
