Fix the momentary hitch when crossing out todos on long list

Currently when I check items off from a long todo list in Ample desktop, it's not uncommon that there's a brief moment where the whole list shifts up when I'm checking off a todo item. Let's ensure that the removal of todo items is always consistently smooth, even for large lists.
